This xiphos is based on an original found in Alfedena, Abruzzo, Italy. The original is dated to the 6th century BC and is in the collection of the Museo civico aufidenate "Antonio De Nino" in Alfedena. A similar sword is depicted on the statue of the Capestrano warrior. Probably, this type of sword was borrowed by the Etruscans from the Greeks.
This sword is made of carbon steel. The hilt and cross guard are from bone and steel. The scabbard is made of wood and covered with leather, and has brass and bone fittings.
The sword is 83 cm long, with a blade length of 65 cm, and weighs 1,2 kg.

This item is semi-sharp and designed for decorative purposes. It can be made razor sharp at a surcharge.
