This xiphos is based on an original found in Alfedena, Abruzzo, Italy. The original is dated to the 6th century BC and is in the collection of the Museo civico aufidenate "Antonio De Nino" in Alfedena. A similar sword is depicted on the statue of the Capestrano warrior. Probably, this type of sword was borrowed by the Etruscans from the Greeks.
