Applying water based makeup/face paint

When using professional makeup or face paint, it’s important to work on a clean base. Exfoliate and cleanse your skin first to prevent flaking. It’s also advised to apply a primer before applying the makeup.

All makeup and face paints we sell are water based. This means you need to add a little bit of water before you can use it. You can apply the makeup with brushes or sponges depending on the effect you wish to create.

To ensure the makeup stays on longer, apply several layers of makeup and set each layer with a setting spray. Let the setting spray dry before applying the next layer of makeup.

Sometimes, water based makeup doesn’t stick too well to latex prosthetics. If that’s the case you can use some 99% alcohol instead of water to activate the makeup.
