Spearheads like this were used from the early Middle Ages to the Renaissance. This type of spearhead is quite nasty. Originally they were actually intended for hunting, when the spear was thrown at a boar, the spearhead dug into the skin and the wings prevented it from being easily removed. This principle was also applied in warfare.
This spearhead is supplied without a shaft. It is perfect for reconstructions of Vikings, Normans, fifteenth century etc.
