Product description

This closed tournament helmet is a replica of 16th century originals. Helmets like this were worn all over Europe during the era of the great tournaments. Because the practical functions of the aristocracy were taken over by clerks, the young nobility could spend their days on tournaments and hunting. The closed helmet like this developed from the armet. Helmets like this were a technological breakthrough: they had several visors to protect the face from the lance"s splinters. Helmets like this were mainly worn during tournaments but also during wartime.
This helmet consists of three parts. It has a visor that can be opened and it provides a perfect field of view. The helmet can easily be placed on the cuirass.

Maintenance & care
Avoid rust by frequently greasing your armor. You can easily remove rust with black sandpaper

This item is handmade in a limited amount. Each item is unique. Finish and sizes can slightly vary.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.

Please note. After finishing the product yourself, the warranty and return right expire. Celtic WebMerchant is not responsible for the obtained result.
