Product description
This ring is a replica of a 1st–2nd century Roman original. It is designed in the shape of a snake, a motif frequently used in Roman art. The ring is available in sizes S, M, and L.
The snake was a common symbol in Roman art and jewelry, believed to protect the prosperity of the household.
In ancient Greek culture and the Nordic Bronze Age, the snake represented healing. The snake worship seen in Roman culture may have originated in Macedonia, where the snake was considered a symbol of fertility. For this reason, women gladly wore jewelry in the form of a snake.
