This sword is made after an early Norse Viking sword from the 8th century AD. Swords like this are found all over Europe and they are a direct development of the spatha. Around this period the early medieval swords had a relatively small pommel and two long cross-guards.
Both cross-guards and the pommel are made of hardened brass. The blade has a double cutting edge and is made of carbon steel.
