Product description

This Viking sword is a replica of a 10th century original excavated in England. Swords like this were used all over Northern Europe around the 10th century. This sword has a five-lobed pommel, this occurred more often than seven-loved pommels. Lobes were often seperated from each other by threaded steel wire.

This sword has two cross-guards and a loose pommel that is riveted to the upper cross-guard. The grip is wrapped round with brown leather. The sword has a length of 95,5 cm and a blade of 79 cm. It weighs approx. 1,2 kg. The sword is made of carbon steel with a hardness of 48-50 HRC. It is suitable for light combat.

It is delivered including a luxurious scabbard. The scabbard is made of wood and covered with leather.

Deepeeka has made a name in the past with its beautiful Classica helmets. Besides this Indian manufacturer produces (early) medieval semi-sharp and battle-ready swords. With their blades of 48-50 HRC these models are specially suited for re-enactment purposes. The flexibility and balance make them suitable for instensive use. The swords are a mix of historical accuracy and user friendliness. So they are more than worth their money. The swords are delivered including a luxurious, handmade scabbard.

This sword is ideal for beginning sword fighters and light fights, but is not covered by any warranty.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.

Please note. After finishing the product yourself, the warranty and return right expire. Celtic WebMerchant is not responsible for the obtained result.
