This is a surcoat that could be worn over the suit of armour or hauberk and it was used for protection against heat and dust. When a surcoat was not worn the armour could burn. This surcoat has a depiction of the Templars cross, the knight order that was banned in 1307 because Philip the Fair, deeply indebted to them, wanted their money. This surcoat is also available for Hospitaller knights (a white cross on a black background) and the Teutonic knights (black cross on a white background).
The cotton surcoat has a length of approx. 135 cm and it fits all sizes.
