Product description
In the early 15th century, complete suits of armor began to appear in Northern Italy — known today as Milanese armor. This style spread throughout Europe and was not limited to any single region. Milanese armor is characterized by large, rounded, and unadorned plates. Helmets typically included the sallet, armet, and barbute, and knights wore a full mail hauberk underneath the suit. While Milanese armor pieces often made up a complete suit, knights sometimes wore only individual parts.
These vambraces are based on historical Milanese originals — the same type found in, for example, the Churburg S18 armor. This style was worn throughout Europe between 1390 and 1450, and similar armor continued in use into the 16th century.
Made from 1.6 mm steel, these vambraces are suitable for reenactment.
