Viking axe, type E, engraved, semi-sharp

Product description

The axe was an indispensable and versatile tool for the Vikings, whether it was used to fell trees, build ships, houses and furniture, or as a weapon in battle. The shape and size of the ax heads were adapted to their intended use. Some axes were beautifully decorated and served as status symbols, often buried next to their owner. Today, Viking axes are treasured collectibles and often appear in movies, TV series and video games, where they reinforce the image of the wild and fearless Vikings. The Viking axe we offer here has a head of the Petersen type E, with a hand-forged blade of high-quality carbon steel and a sturdy handle of ash wood. The axe head is additionally decorated with an engraving of a historic Viking motif and the axe is wrapped in leather. Great as a gift or for a Viking outfit!
