Product description
A gorget (neck plate or armor collar) is an indispensable part of a full suit of armor: it protects the wearer's vulnerable neck and throat. This Gothic gorget is made in the graceful Gothic style of the late Middle Ages and consists of several vaulted steel plates that envelop the neck all around. Thanks to overlapping segments, the armor offers good protection while maintaining freedom of movement.
Made from 1.2mm steel, finished with an authentic forged surface. The rounded edges are decorated with small steel rivets and grooves along the collar edge; the back is blackened for better corrosion resistance. The gorget consists of two parts — a front piece and a back piece — that are crocheted on one side and closed on the other side with an adjustable leather belt of approx. 2 mm thick.
It steel is not stainless. Regular maintenance with eg Ballistol is recommended. Ideal for late medieval reenactment as an addition to Gothic armor.
