This chemise forms the simplest, yet indispensable layer of a medieval women's clothing. Made of light, woven cotton, this garment is worn directly on the skin and protects your more precious woolen or velvet outerwear against body fat and sweat.

This basic principle is centuries old: from the high medieval period, in which the chemise was still a long garment with sleeves, to the late medieval period, when the cut for women could vary from loose and flowing to form-fitting. Later, in the early fifteenth century, the chemise was often worn with shorter sleeves, so that the white linen remained visible beneath the sleeves of the surcoat.

The spacious, straightforward cut of this chemise provides complete freedom of movement under a dress, tunic or surcotte. After a day outside, you can simply wash it in the washing machine. Available in size S through 2XL.
