This comb is an accurate reproduction of a find from grave 58 in Trossingen, from the time of the Alemanni. The original is kept in the Archaeological National Museum in Constance and was originally made from deer antler.
Combs played an important role in daily life: ritual cleansing was required before contact with the gods, and a well-groomed appearance represented cosmic order.
This reproduction is made from bone instead of deer antler and finished with great precision and craftsmanship, approx. 16 x 4 cm.
