The Schaube was a popular surcoat in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. The garment was worn by both men and women and was typically open at the front. Characteristic were the generous cut and the distinctive sleeves, which could have openings through which the arms were extended outward. Costly Schaubes were often lined or trimmed with fur and formed an important part of the representative clothing of the late medieval period.

This Schaube is inspired by the long surcoat from the late medieval period and is worn over an undergarment. The open front and A-line silhouette create the characteristic layered look.

The surcoat features a fitted bodice with a V-neckline and open, hanging sleeves, allowing the sleeves of the undergarment to remain visible. It is made of sturdy cotton.

Combine the Schaube with a long undergarment and a narrow belt for a late medieval outfit, suitable for re-enactment, living history and historical events.
