Product description
This small trefoil brooch is based on a find from Birka, Sweden, featuring three intertwined animal bodies. The first examples of this type of clasp were imported to Scandinavia from the Carolingian Empire as belt decoration and quickly transformed into fibula's in your own style.
They were found almost exclusively in women's graves, usually worn between two tortoiseshell brooches, for example around the neck opening tunic to close.
Equipped with a ring to attach a chain. Solid cast from fine jewelery bronze.
