Headgear came in various forms in the Viking Age: from pointed woolen hats to round felt hats and loose hoods. The type that was common probably varied by status, function and fashion — archaeological finds and images show several of these variants, including this pointed woolen cap.
The hat is made of 100% wool in a diamond twill weave, a weaving technique that has also been archaeologically proven in Scandinavian textile finds from the Viking Age.
