This turtle brooch is made in the Borre style, an art style between the second half of the 9th century and the first half of the 10th century. Tortoiseshell brooches were worn in pairs to hold the hangeroc's shoulder straps in place.

Performed in bronze, with dimensions of approximately 8.5 x 6 x 2.5 cm.
