This fibula is a replica of a typical Roman soldier's brooch from the 1st century, known as the Aucissa fibula after the maker's name AVCISSA that was often stamped on these mass-produced specimens. It was worn by legionnaires to fasten the heavy, coarsely woven Roman military cloak on the right shoulder, and later also by the civilian population.

Executed in silvered bronze, with dimensions of 5.5 x 2 x 2.7 cm, identical to the historical original.
