This chausse is based on a model from around 1200-1300, which has been widely documented in medieval images throughout Europe. In the High Middle Ages the "trousers" not from one piece, but from two separate legs that were tied separately around the leg, over one trousers (braies) on. From the 13th century onwards, these were often secured below the knee with garters.

This chausse leg is made of cotton and is sold separately, so you can combine colors as desired — just as richly decorated, two-color (mi-parti) patterns emerged in the 12th century. The model is attached to a waistband or waistband with a cord belt attached and is a comfortable, breathable choice for warmer days.

Wear chausses under your armor or as a visible layer with a medieval outfit, and combine two different colors for an authentic mi-parti effect.
