Between 1250 and 1400, medieval hoods were more than just practical garments - they became a fashionable accessory, worn by people of all classes. The long tail, called a lyre pipe, could hang over the back or be wrapped around the neck for extra warmth. In the 14th century it was common to decorate hoods with a serrated edge along the shoulder cape, a style that is reflected in this hood. This color version is made in black.
This caper is made from 100% recycled wool, which makes it environmentally friendly and sustainable, and is lined on the inside with soft cotton for extra wearing comfort. The wide shoulder cape with serrated edge gives an authentic medieval look, while the long lyre pipe tail provides extra style and warmth. Only available in size L.
