This amulet set from the Viking Age is modeled after the so-called Hesselbjergamulet, dating from the 8th century. The original was forged from iron and consisted of a knotted ring with a sickle-shaped blade, a hammer and a fire strike attached to it.

Presumably it depicts amulet various attributes of the god Thor: the hammer stands for protection and blessing, the sickle for food and prosperity, and the fireblow for fire and a home - together the basic needs that were of great importance for the survival of the Vikings. The original was found in a Viking Age women's grave at Hesselbjerg, near the Danish town of Odder on the Jutland Peninsula, and is now in the Moesgaard Museum near Aarhus. A similar set with fireblow and sickle blade was also found in the Swedish Viking town of Birka.
