During the 15th and 16th centuries, the men's shirt was worn as an underlayer beneath doublets and jerkins, among other garments. Ample sleeves were gathered at the wrists and the neck could be closed with laces. This shirt is based on historical examples from the 15th and 16th centuries and therefore fits well with late medieval and Renaissance outfits.
Due to the various lace closures, the shirt drapes beautifully in folds downward. Around the wrists you can fully tie the sleeves closed, which makes the puff of the sleeves even more prominent. Around the neck the shirt can also be tied closed, making it look layered and voluminous.
