Product description

This coin pendant is based on a coin minted in Haithabu and found in Birka. Coin pendants like these were made from functional coins and behave like amulet for protection, a custom that emerged from the older Germanic tradition of the bracteates. Magic runes were sometimes engraved on the back to strengthen the protective power.

Performed in bronze, with a diameter of approx. 2.5 cm.
