Product description
This amulet shows Belenus, a Celtic god whom the Romans equated with Apollo, depicted with a torc around his neck — as can also be seen on the famous Gundestrup cauldron. This over 2,100 year old, richly decorated silver cauldron was found in a Danish peat bog in 1891 and is kept in the National Museum of Denmark; the panels combine Celtic mythology with Near Eastern and Thracian silversmithing techniques from the period around 150 BC.
Performed in bronze, with dimensions of approx. 2.4 x 4.8 cm.
