Product description
This coin package contains a replica of a denarius of Emperor Hadrian, formed directly from an original. The coins refers to Hadrian's travels at sea: the obverse shows his bust, the reverse a galley ship.
Hadrian became emperor in 117 AD and was known for his policy of 'peace through strength'. He built the famous Hadrian's Wall between 122 and 130, a stone frontier wall over 110 kilometers long from the Tyne to the Solway, intended to prevent raids by Pictish tribes. The emperor traveled extensively and spent more than half of his reign outside Italy.
The coins is executed in tin with a silvery-gray shine. A fascinating piece for collectors and enthusiasts of Roman history.
