Product description

This coin pendant is based on a coin from Ribe, the place where the first coins of Denmark were struck. Coin pendants like these were made from functional coins and behave like amulet for protection, a custom that emerged from the older Germanic tradition of the bracteates. Magic runes were sometimes engraved on the back to strengthen the protective power.

Performed in bronze, with dimensions of approx. 1.9 x 2.4 cm.
