Amulet Cernunnos Gundestrup boiler, bronze

Product description

This amulet depicts Cernunnos, the horned "lord of the beasts", as depicted on the inner plate of the famous Gundestrup Cauldron. There he is seen as a beardless man wearing an antler-like headdress, holding a torc in his right hand and a horned serpent in his left hand, surrounded by a deer, other animals and a figure riding a dolphin. The more than 2,100-year-old silver cauldron was found in 1891 in a Danish peat bog and is kept in the National Museum of Denmark.

Performed in bronze, with dimensions of approx. 4 x 5.8 cm.
