Product description
The chaperon is a hooded headwear commonly worn during the Middle Ages. The cap reached to the shoulders, fully covering the wearer's head and neck — only the face remained open. At the back, the chaperon tapered into a long point known as a liripipe. In the early Middle Ages, poor people wore it almost exclusively. From the 14th century on, wealthier people adopted the chaperon too, made from more luxurious fabrics.
Made from thick wool, this chaperon covers most of the shoulders. The hood ends in a long point. It fits all sizes.
