These Viking trousers are inspired by Early Medieval finds and images from Haithabu, one of the most important Viking trading centres between the ninth and eleventh centuries. Archaeological evidence suggests that Norsemen, merchants and ordinary people preferred loose leg clothing that was tied together at the ankle.
The trousers are made from a mix of twill weave and sturdy canvas, both 100% cotton, and have a weathered, used appearance that suits a life of travel and combat.
These trousers are suitable for re-enactment and living history and are often combined with leg wrappings and a short tunic for a complete Viking look.
