Product description
The design for this special torque draws inspiration from the famous dragon head of the Viking burial ship found in Oseberg. Carved from wood, the dragon head once adorned the Oseberg ship's prow (around 800 AD). You can still see the prow on display at the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo, along with the original ships themselves — the best preserved Viking ships in the world, featuring ornamental engravings in the Oseberg animal style. The dragon head served as a prow ornament, but similar dragon figures likely decorated many other objects as well.
This torque features a beautifully twisted design with two dragon heads at the ends. It weighs about 100 grams, sits comfortably on the neck, and fits both men and women with a neck circumference of up to 55 cm. To put it on, pull the two ends apart and hang the torc around your neck, then bend the ends back into place.
A beautiful piece of jewelry for re-enactors, this torque is also a great way to elevate a modern outfit. Made from high-quality bronze, it catches the light beautifully. The silver-plated version adds a layer of silver over the bronze, giving the torque the look of solid silver.
