Product description
New from Red Dragon — known for their high-quality HEMA plastic training swords — this line brings high-level replica historical swords to the market. Each sword comes with a leather scabbard and is made from high-quality, precision-hardened steel.
This sword is based on original Viking swords with a Petersen type H hilt. The Petersen type H is the most prominent hilt style found on Viking Age swords, spanning from the late 8th century to the late 10th century.
The scabbard is wooden, wrapped in brown leather, and the grip is brown leather as well. The edge measures 1.5 mm thick. The blade is tempered and made from EN42J spring steel, with a core hardness of 45 HRC and an edge hardness of 50 HRC. Those two hardness levels work together to keep the sword flexible and less brittle than comparable models. The result is a combination of excellent craftsmanship and years of HEMA experience.
