Product description
This Viking sword is a replica of a 10th-century Viking sword. In 1919, Jan Petersen published his groundbreaking Viking sword classifications, also known as the Petersen classifications. In total there were 26 types with 20 special types. Within the Petersen classification, this sword is a type S. Type S is thought to originate from the tenth century, derived from the older type D Viking sword. Type S is mainly found in the Nordic countries and Eastern Europe, but rarely in Western Europe.
Made from carbon steel with an antique finish on the pommel and cross-guard, this sword features a grip wrapped in brown leather. It comes with a wooden scabbard wrapped in brown leather and antique steel fittings. The scabbard has metal rings so you can hang it on your belt. Built for training and sword fighting, it has a rounded tip and a battle-ready blunt blade (2.5–3 mm thick).
