Product description

This sturdy wooden shield features a shield boss, runic decorations, and a metal border. The Vegvisir motif — also known as the 'runic compass' or 'wayfinder' — was an ancient Norse symbol commonly used by Viking travelers and explorers. According to Norwegian folklore, it served as a magical compass, guiding the bearer through even unfamiliar territories. Vikings considered it a talisman of protection and luck, often depicting it on shields and other significant objects. Our Viking shield with the Vegvisir motif pays homage to that rich tradition. Meticulously crafted with attention to detail, the shield's sturdy wooden construction delivers durability and reliability in any combat situation. A shield boss provides additional protection and makes the shield easy to handle. A sturdy handle on the back lets you grip and carry it comfortably — whether for battles, re-enactments, or as an impressive decorative piece in your home.
