Product description
This needle case is a replica of a 9th–10th century original excavated alongside another needle case in grave 515 in the Viking town of Birka. Needles were far more expensive than modern ones, so people kept them carefully. Fasten it to your belt with a lace, just as the original was worn. The beautifully decorated design gave the needle case both a functional and a decorative role.
