Product description

This scale armor is based on fragments found in the Viking city of Birka and in Visby on Gotland. Shell and slat armor was used from classical antiquity well into the Middle Ages. Some examples show that the Vikings also used scale armor — a tradition likely imported from the Byzantine Empire.

Wear this scale armor on its own or over chain mail. Loose parts make it easy to repair and adjust to size.
