Product description
This battle-ready replica is based on a Viking helmet discovered in a burial mound in Norway. The original dates from the 10th century. Found in nine broken pieces, it was reconstructed and is now on display at the Statens historika museum in Oslo. The face guard protects both the eyes and the nose, while the chainmail gives the throat and neck flexible protection.
Like the original, this replica features a leather chin strap for a secure fit. The leather edging on the face guard and the leather inlay add comfort. The steel rings of the chainmail are galvanized. Made from 2 mm thick steel, the helmet weighs about 4.3 kg and fits head circumferences up to 62 cm.
