This beautiful Viking dress is based on excavations of original textile remains from the early Middle Ages. Wear it on its own or layer it over another dress in colder weather. The dress features a stunning contrast of azure and brown — color combinations like this were common in the early Middle Ages. The body is azure, while the collar, sleeves, and skirt are trimmed in brown. Gussets are triangular fabric panels sewn into the skirt to shape it to the body, add width, and allow for greater freedom of movement. Nearly every early medieval dress made use of gussets. This dress is great for re-enactment, historic LARP, and Cosplay of series like Vikings or Last Kingdom.
