Product description
This bronze Valkyrie pendant is a replica from the Viking era. It depicts a small female figure, elegantly dressed with tied hair, holding a drinking horn. The original Valkyrie pendant was made from silver, found in Klinta on the Swedish island of Öland. The Viking amulet is interpreted as a Valkyrie offering a fallen warrior a horn of mead to welcome him to Valhalla. Depictions of women are more common than pendants in Viking Age finds. People likely wore them as protective amulets during that period — in Norse mythology, Valkyrie women were believed to choose the souls of fallen warriors (Einherijr) after battle and guide them to the halls of Valhalla.
