This snake bracelet is a replica of a copy from the 1st half of the 1st century BC. Found in the Roman city of Pompeii.

The snake was a common subject in Roman art and jewelry. It symbolized the prosperity of the family.

The snake represents healing in Greek antiquity and the Nordic Bronze Age. This serpent worship, as seen in Roman culture, possibly originated in Macedonia, where the snake was believed to be a fertility symbol. That is why women were happy to wear jewelry in the form of a snake.
