Recommended combination
Product description
This hand-and-a-half sword delivers a solid combination of weight and force. A short, deep fuller makes the blade lighter and better balanced. Hand-and-a-half swords like this were most popular in the 15th century. It features a type T (scent stopper) pommel, a form used mainly in Germany.
The blade is made from carbon steel with a hardness of HRC 50 – 53. A hard wooden grip wrapped in black leather keeps the sword comfortable in hand. The sword measures 119 cm overall, with an 88.90 cm blade, and weighs about 1 kg. The point of balance sits about 8 cm below the cross-guard.
This sword is an Oakeshott type XVIIIa.
