Product description
This early Templar sword is modeled after originals used by Norman knights and crusaders around the 12th century. The sword is an Oakeshott type XI with a flat brass crossguard and a brass pommel of the 'Brazil nut' type. The pommel features an enameled red Templar cross. The blade is EN45 carbon steel, tempered to a hardness of 50–55 HRC. The tang construction runs through the entire grip, and the pommel is peened onto the tang. The grip is wood wrapped in leather. Comes with a leather sheath. This sword is dedicated to one of the founders of the Templars, Hugo de Payens. Together with Godfrey of Saint-Omer, he founded the Templar order in 1119 AD to protect pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land.
