Product description
This medieval headscarf draws on illustrations from the Maciejowski Bible, a richly illuminated 13th-century manuscript also known as the Morgan Bible. King Louis IX of France commissioned the manuscript. It captures a snapshot of a distant medieval past, offering great insight into the clothing and armor of the time. Throughout history, married women wore headscarves as a status symbol. Only in modern times did the practice fall out of use in the West. A great accessory for medieval reenactment.
