Renowned for his combat prowess, Gladiator Spiculus earned the admiration of crowds at the Gladiatorial Games and became a personal favorite of Roman Emperor Nero. Generously rewarded for his arena victories, he received lavish gifts and even palaces. According to legend, when Nero faced his impending death, he sent for Spiculus to end his life — but the gladiator could not be reached. Crafted to reflect the historical period, this gladius honors a true champion. Unlike the standard-issue gladii of rank-and-file legionnaires, it features a sharp carbon steel blade stretching an extra-long 61 cm, giving you superior reach at critical moments in combat. Despite that length, the sword stays lightweight at under 900 g — agile and responsive in hand.
The grip is made from natural bone, beautifully contrasting with the dark-stained wooden pommel and guard. Because bone is organic, every sword carries unique variations in color and grain, making each piece one of a kind. The scabbard is historically accurate, built from wood and wrapped in reddish-brown stained leather. Gold-plated fittings enhance the look, featuring detailed reliefs of a lion and a gladiator. The pommel is finished with a gold-plated leaf overlay for a regal touch.
