Product description
This Lakonian short sword is a detailed replica inspired by the design from The Spartan Army. The Spartans were renowned for their unparalleled toughness and discipline, training to become the ultimate warriors. Built for the harsh realities of ancient hand-to-hand combat, the blade features a distinctive leaf shape and is forged from high-carbon steel. The grip is crafted from bronze for strength and reliability, and the scabbard is made from wood wrapped in leather for a traditional finish.
The Spartans preferred a shorter xiphos than what was commonly used elsewhere in the Greek world. This shorter design was ideal as a thrusting weapon between the shield walls formed when hoplites of two phalanx formations clashed in battle.
