Product description
The shashka is a saber originally used by the mountain tribes of the Caucasus in the 12th and 13th centuries. Fast and light, it was an ideal cavalry weapon — which is why the Cossacks later adopted it. The shashka remained in use through the 19th century. In the later centuries, these sabers saw heavy use in the Balkan region between Austria and Turkey.
This shashka is completely handmade. It features an oak wood grip and measures 94.5 cm overall. The blade is 80 cm long, the grip is 14 cm, and it weighs 790 grams.
