Product description
This detailed replica of a medieval ring is based on a historic original that once belonged to the daughter of Anglo-Saxon King Aethelwulf of Wessex. It dates from the Viking Age of 853–874. The Aethelswith ring was designed in the so-called Trewhiddle style, typical of Anglo-Saxon art in the 9th century. The original was made from gold with niello inlay. Today, the ring is housed in the British Museum in London. The ring is adjustable in size.
