This Viking buckle is a replica of a Rusvik buckle from the 10th–11th century, found in Novgorod, Russia. Vikings in the Baltic Sea area wore similar buckles most commonly. The region was home to several Viking strongholds. Birka is the best known of these, thanks to a series of extensive archaeological excavations and documentation.
