Product description
This tunic is based on various examples of Roman tunics from the second half of the 1st century BC to the second half of the 1st century AD. Made from sturdy cotton, it draws on sources including Roman gravestones in Bonn, the Luxor fresco in Egypt, and excavations of Legio VIII Augusta at the fort of Vindonissa in Switzerland. Originally, tunics had no sleeves. Some were made from more fabric, which naturally formed sleeves. Legionaries wore tunics in various colors, including red.
