Product description
A wonderful accessory for Roman re-enactment and for making your own leather armor. Among the Romans, a phalera served as a medal or trophy. The Roman army awarded these round discs to soldiers who distinguished themselves in battle. Made from silver, bronze, or gold, soldiers wore the phalerae on their leather armor during military parades. Veterans wearing armor covered in Phalerae commanded great respect. This phalera features an eagle, or aquila — the most important field sign of a Roman legion.
